TikTok Reveals A New Method Of Compensating Its Creators

TikTok is rolling out new ways to get paid for creators.

The TikTok Creator Fund only pays creators between $0.02 and $0.04 per 1,000 views, so the majority of full-time producers make most of their money through product promotion, podcasting, selling idea templates, and other projects. TikTok is now introducing Series, a new option for creators to benefit directly from the app.

With Series, eligible creators can publish premium content collections (opens in new tab), which are groups of up to 80 videos, each up to 20 minutes long. Fans and viewers can purchase access to the series for a fee. As long as the price is between $0.99 and $189.99, producers are free to set their own price. According to TikTok, for a “limited period”, creators will receive all revenue after platform and processing fees. Users will be able to purchase access to collections through the creator’s profile or directly from these video links.
